"The future is in the paintings"

Born in 1963 in New York, USA, he lives and works in Paris.

John Andrew Perello known as JonOne or Jon 156, founded in 1984 the band 156 All Starz after having started, at the age of 17, in the world of graffiti thanks to his childhood friend White Man.

JonOne creates abstract works influenced by movement, color, energy while other graffiti artists create figurative works.

Self-taught artist, JonOne began painting on canvas in 1985 because it offers the possibility to leave a mark in time. That same year, the gallery owner Rick Librizzi exhibited it in New York.

Following Bando’s invitation, he moved to Paris in 1987. France gave him the opportunity to “continue his personal enrichment”

In 1990, JonOne met Maître Pierre Cornette de Saint Cyr who allowed him to settle at the Hôpital éphémére, a squat established in the Hôpital Bretonneau, from 1991 to 1996. He meets Sharp, Ash, JayOne and Skki and A-One who introduce him to the world of Parisian art by making him discover galleries and exhibitions.

His first solo exhibition, entitled “Graffitism”, took place in 1990 at the Gleditsch 45 Gallery in Berlin, Germany. Collective and personal exhibitions are held around the world (Tokyo, Monaco, Paris, Geneva, New York, Hong Kong, Brussels, etc.).

His paintings are an explosion of colors, JonOne describes himself as an “abstract expressionist graffiti painter”
